It's been a while since I've purchased an album much less a demo and Drakwald's Forgotten Lands is reminiscent of some other crustier folkish pagan metal acts that have graced my ears. Though only four songs are featured on this demo, Drakwald manages to keep things fresh by epic melodic interludes that keep the listener on the latched onto the song. The vocals kinda take a back seat probably due to the mixing but it doesn't hinder there effectual presence in the music. My favourite track of this short but stellar demo is without a doubt "Rage from the Battlefield". Ever since I heard it on youtube I was scouring the internet trying to get a decent copy for myself. I guess this thought should close out my opinions on Drakwald. I haven't bought an album or demo in since Bush's The Science Of Things (terrible I know) much less one that the artist asked me how much I wanted to pay. Awesome stuff for fans of the genre and another band that I look forward to evolving further.
