Bane - Chaos, Darkness & Emptiness (2010)

After the demise of Disdained, one of Serbia's best technical death metal acts, Bane spawned. Simple as that. The frontman in both bands, Branislav Panić, has managed to assemble and create a fully functioning band in a very short period of time. Fuck, they even recorded an album and toured Europe. So, that pretty much tells you that this band means business and is here to stay.

Alright, let's take it one thing at a time. The cover is just awesome, you'll have to admit. It was done by Marcelo Vasco, the guy who does art for Belphegor, Gorgoroth, Vader, Satyricon, etc. Before getting into anything else, I also have to mention the production which is amazing. The instruments and the vocals are mixed so well. A listener's paradise, in my opinion.

Now, the music is a black and death mixture with Dark Funeral and a lot of Dissection influences. Hell, they even added a special thanks inside the album booklet to Jon, Ahriman and Jensen from Dissection, Dark Funeral and Saturnus, respectively. With that being said, you probably know what to expect. It's filled with melodic and acoustic parts, but, at the same time, it provides the brutality when needed. What you should also know is that there are two types of vocals on this release and the duo is utterly blasphemous. The drums are slow, brutal, doomy, fast - all at the same time. But, the thing that will catch your attention the most are the guitars. Insane riffage, excellent melodic parts and outstanding acoustic parts.

The album really has it all, I'm just blown away. Listen to it and buy the fucking thing. I know I will.
