Wolfchant Discography

Wolfchant is a pagan folk metal band that formed in St. Oswald, Germany in 2003 by Lokhi (lead vocalist), Gaahnt (bassist), Skaahl (lead guitar) and Norgahd (drums and backing vocals). Wolfchant's lyrics deal with legends and folk tales from Nordic mythology. To date they have released 4 albums, 1 EP and 1 demo. There first album, Bloody Tales Of Disgraced Lands was an epic success and really helped to form there sound. It has fast tempo riffs with melodious keyboards paving the way whilst setting the swift and epic atmosphere. There subsequent album, A Pagan Storm took them even further as they cleaned up there sound and brought a darker feel to there image. The title track is one of my favourites as it embodied the bands sound and the sweeping keyboards create a very rocking tune. Determined Damnation would be there next album and the band would stray further for more melody and a lighter tone. The songs never too drunk and auf blut gebaut are definite favourites of mine off this album as they carry a heavy pep to them as there earlier work did. There final album to date is Call Of The Black Winds opted for a darker sound. In my opinion this and determined damnation wouldn't be as good as the debut and follow up. Call Of The Black Wind in particular strayed to far from what made Wolfchant appealing. Though the bands least successful album is still a decent listen. Bloody Tales Of Disgraced Lands and A Pagan Storm are top notch albums that deserve a listen for fans of the genre.
Also if anyone has the demo The Fangs Of Southern Death and the EP the Herjan Trilogy in 320 cbr / V0-2 vbr please post it in the comments.
