Archons - The Consequences of Silence (2008)

Archons, from Quebeq Canada, is a melodic death metal band with some technical influences. They don't really bring anything new to the melo tech death scene, instead they do everything awesomely. The riffs and melodies are excellent and memorable, while not taking over the songs. The aggression is still present and the drums are very well performed, taking a strong stance in the songs while not sounding over produced. The vocals are more in the scream-growl genre with a few guttural growls here and there. In my opinion these vocals fits this album perfectly, I have never had a hard time understanding the lyrics without aid. Which is great because these lyrics are some of my favorites in the genre. They are mainly about how much humanity sucks, which always puts a smile on my face. Wandering the Burning Land still makes me angry, pissed, happy and jumpy at the same time!
Each and every song on this album is at least very good and brings something to the picture. Archons deserve a lot more praise and attention!
