Merrow is the one-man band project of Keith Merrow, a Portland, Oregon resident.
The Arrival is Merrow's first full-length album, and quality of both the riffs and the production of the album. The 10-track album flows like a concept album but is listenable as single tracks as well. Another recording in Merrow's home studio, the album's quality of riffs has gone up with the addition of synthesizer and sample parts and more complexity to the songs. Merrow seems to experiment much more on this album with "clean breaks" and explores more detailed textures than on the EP. The Arrival keeps the same flowing, groove-oriented style of the original EP, but adds some interest in the form of better drum samples and guitar flourishes. The evolution of his compositions over the six months between releases is incredible, and I think a third album from this artist will be hella awesome.
