Eschaton play black metal.
They're from Austria.
That's enough, right?
There is an obvious difference between the sound and 'mood' of the band between their first album from 2004 and their current EP from 2010, six years can make a huge difference. While always playing black metal their earlier effort had a much rougher sound (not just based on production) with a more 'up' beat and pacing and almost punk like ferocity and death metal like chug.
Their latest which is a prelude to their upcoming full length (out 2011) is more refined, maybe even 'avant-garde' (if you're into that kinda thing) with a much tighter overall sound and structure.
I like either effort and look forward to their eventual LP release this year supposedly.
