Heaven Shall Burn - Invictus (Iconoclast III) (2010)

The musical paths that you know of recent albums like 'Deaf To Our Prayers' (2006) and 'Iconoclast' (2008) is extended to ‘Invictus (Iconoclast III)’. And so you get a metaphorically ducking into a sea of death and hardcore, brutal vocals and all driven by a significant amount of intensity, ferocity and aggression. So it is a replay of moves? No, the new album is another step up as HSB came up with an even rawer sound. At small moments (fe 'Combat', 'Buried In Forgotten Grounds', 'The Lie You Bleed For'), the band takes down the ferocity for a moment, and with a modest, atmospheric part adds more tension to the song or in some tracks even gives a big nod to the electronics. In ‘Given In Death’ the musical direction is going over in a different approach and the band gives you an emotionally charged ballad between Sabine Weiner (Deadlock) and Marcus Bischoff. Tue Madsen, with whom the band has already worked more often, seems to know and feel exactly how the band sounds at its best and he has done a great job on the album. (SOURCE)
