The vocalist/guitarist of Hour Of Penance plays in this band, and his influence is noticeable, since Fleshgod Apocalypse's music is pretty similar to that of the previously mentioned Italian brutal-tech-death band. Except here we have more emphasis on the melodic passages, solos, and such. Every now and then the feeling catches me that I'm listening to an authentic classical composition played by a death metal band, which is a pretty unique feat. Kudos for the original ideas, and for managing to pull them off well. This is some sophisticated stuff!
